A hundred word stories. The beginning.

July 1st, 2009 § 14

Welcome to Papernoise Blackbook, a blog about mutated comics and illustration, about sketching, casual creativity, rambling talk, mutations of the thought, deviations of the subconsciousness and spare time philosophy. Papernoise is my new web presence, which is replacing the old one, Uzimak. This blog is just the fist step of a general redesign process, which includes also a new stylish portfolio page at www.papernoise.net, but that still need a lot of work before it can go online. Papernoise Blackbook isn’t just a theme redesign with a new url. It’s much more. Fist of all, there is a radical change in the way I will blog: less talking about me, and the projects I work on, more content produced directly and especially for the blog. Which means, more content for you, the reader!

For starters I will hereby inaugurate one of the main series I want to post here: A Hundred Word Stories! Which I will post every wednesday at noontime (more or less). The concept of it is really simple: it’s a series of onehundred stories written with only a hundred words, some by me, some by friends and authors I appreciate. For each story I will create an illustration (100 per 100 centimeters). The stories will be sometimes in English, sometimes in Italian. I don’t want to translate them, I’m not good enough a translator and I would only spoil them. Other stuff you will find on this brand new blog of mine: Lazy Saturday Sketches, every week something from my sketchbook, maybe a new Lux Aeterna episode, maybe even some Lux Aeterna Spin-offs. And of course some behind the scenes on my ongoing projects! Also you might check out the new download section on this site.

So let’s start with it: here are the first two short stories of this series, both written by me, one in Italian one in English, I hope you enjoy them (or at least one of them), see you soon for more of it! 100words header a hundred words, on the train

On the train (by Hannes Pasqualini)

When he got on the train it was empty, and cold. On his way home there would not be much to keep him company apart from the rattling noise of the wheels, the clapping of a broken door and the hissing of the wind outside. Outside where the world was grey and blurred, the rain was coming down so thick you could have cut it with a knife. When he unfolded his newspaper to read about the latest events in world history, he didn’t notice the giant pig flapping his wings past the window. The apocalypse had begun without him.

a hundred words, the slug, la lumaca
